Zoe’s Place baby hospice in Liverpool, which opened nearly 30 years ago, will close by the end of the year. Plans to build a new £3.5m hospice nearby were derailed due to delays in planning permission and rising costs.
The charity's trustees said there wasn't enough time or funding to relocate before their lease expires in nine months.
Zoe’s Place, which supports children under five with life-limiting conditions, will work with families to find alternative care options. Two other Zoe’s Place hospices in Middlesbrough and Coventry will remain open.
