Drivers across Merseyside halt their cars after spotting message on banner

A series of posters around Merseyside have been grabbing attention with a simple but powerful message: "Kids Need Dads."

Displayed on white banners with bold red or blue lettering, the posters have appeared in prominent locations such as Goodison Park, Anfield, Aintree, and Huyton, even making an appearance inside Liverpool FC's fan area on match day.

Initially, there was speculation that the banners were linked to the activist group Fathers 4 Justice, known for their high-profile protests advocating for fathers' rights. However, this new campaign seems to be separate, with no official connection to the group. Fathers 4 Justice, founded in 2003, made headlines with protests like storming family court offices in Liverpool and staging attention-grabbing stunts in superhero costumes to push for changes in UK family law.

The current posters are believed to be tied to an Instagram account, @kids.need.dads_, which encourages locals to tag the account and use specific hashtags when they spot the banners. The social media campaign, which started in late September, shares images of people stopping to photograph the signs. While it isn't directly linked to Fathers 4 Justice, the campaign appears to share a similar goal of raising awareness around fathers' roles in children's lives.
