Firefighters are still evaluating the damage caused by a significant blaze at the former Typhoo Tea factory in Wirral.

The fire broke out around 5:50 PM BST on Tuesday, prompting the deployment of eight fire engines as thick black smoke filled the air.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) advised residents and businesses near the derelict building on Pasture Road in Moreton to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid the area. Once the fire was under control, MFRS used a drone to inspect the main roof of the factory.
