Historic Wavertree Pub Set to Reopen as Mediterranean Restaurant

A historic Wavertree pub building is preparing for a new chapter as Myra Mediterranean opens in the former Love Bar premises on Smithdown Road.

The building, once the Woodcroft Hotel and later a pub, has stood empty for over a year following Love Bar’s sudden closure, leaving it in disrepair. Renovations are now underway, with metal railings around the site and a “coming soon” banner announcing the restaurant.

The venue has hosted several businesses over the years, including Love Bar, Roma Bar, and Landmark Indian Restaurant. Myra promises “authentic Mediterranean flavours, freshly prepared dishes, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.”

No official opening date has been confirmed.
