A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Liverpool, prompting police to launch a search for the suspect.
The victim, believed to be in his 50s, suffered an arm injury during an incident on Breck Road in the Anfield area at around 11pm on Monday, according to Merseyside Police.
Emergency services attended the scene and the man was treated before being taken to hospital, where he is reported to be in a stable condition.
Breck Road was closed for several hours overnight while officers carried out enquiries.
Detectives say work is continuing to identify and locate the attacker, and they are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Police have asked anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, to contact them.
Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher said officers are still working to establish exactly what happened. He added that even small pieces of information or footage could prove vital to the investigation.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Merseyside Police.
