A convicted sex offender who targeted a woman following a night out in Liverpool has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.
Jordan Scott-Michael, also known as Jordan Callaghan, engaged the woman in conversation after she left a McDonald's in the city center. The 48-year-old then accompanied the victim, who is in her 30s, to a hotel, where he raped and sexually assaulted her.
Scott-Michael, of Halton Lodge Avenue in Runcorn, pleaded guilty to rape, sexual assault, and two counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) at Liverpool Crown Court.
'Predatory Behaviour'
Detective Constable Laura James, who led the investigation for Merseyside Police, described Scott-Michael as having "displayed predatory behaviour."
She stated, "While no sentence can undo the trauma inflicted on his victim that night, I hope today’s sentencing brings her justice and encourages other victims to come forward. We want them to have confidence in us as a police force to take reports seriously and ensure offenders face the courts."
In addition to his prison sentence, Scott-Michael was given an extended license period of five years, a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and an indefinite restraining order.
