Three schoolboys have raised over £300 for Zoe’s Place after learning about the charity's impact on children in need. Rocco Feeley, 13, Logan Shaw, 12, and Antony Hayes, 12, spent the weekend outside local shops collecting donations to support the hospice.
The initiative began when Rocco’s mother, Martine Bradley, shared with him the incredible work done by Zoe’s Place and informed him of its potential closure, inspiring him to take action. The boys, from Norris Green, had already been raising funds through the British tradition of 'Penny for the Guy,' where children collect money for fireworks for Guy Fawkes Night.
However, these enterprising schoolboys decided to redirect their efforts towards saving Zoe’s Place. Martine commented, “I was explaining to Rocco how vital Zoe’s Place is. It’s local to us in Norris Green, and the boys attend school right next door to the hospice, so we’re well aware of how much they have helped our community.”
