An international technology company specialising in digital trade has announced plans to move its global headquarters from Singapore to Liverpool, marking a significant investment in the North West.
LogChain, a digital logistics business, confirmed it will invest up to £4 million across the Liverpool City Region over the next three years, supporting expansion and job creation.
The move has been welcomed by senior political leaders. Business and Trade Secretary Peter Kyle described the relocation as a strong endorsement of the UK’s ambitions in digital commerce.
He said the decision underlined confidence in both the country and the North West as the government works to position Britain at the forefront of innovation in global trade.
Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram said the area’s heritage in trade and logistics made it a natural fit for the company.
He said the investment would create high-quality jobs while reinforcing the region’s international connections, adding that Liverpool was committed to supporting businesses driving the future of global commerce.
LogChain develops technology designed to replace traditional paper-based shipping documentation with secure, legally recognised digital systems. Its platform supports tools such as electronic bills, digital identity verification and AI-powered logistics solutions — technologies that are becoming increasingly central to international trade.
The relocation comes amid wider government efforts to modernise trade systems and accelerate the adoption of digital export infrastructure.
Chief executive Andie McKeown said the UK’s legal framework for electronic trade documents had helped influence the company’s decision.
She said establishing the firm’s global headquarters in Britain would allow LogChain to expand trusted and interoperable digital trade systems from what she described as a market setting new global standards.
