Vitezslav Jaros emerged as an unlikely hero in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, stepping in for the injured Alisson.
With back-up keeper Caoimhin Kelleher sidelined due to illness, Jaros, 23, made his debut and delivered a key save to deny Eberechi Eze late on.
Diogo Jota’s first-half goal from Cody Gakpo’s cross had given Liverpool control, and despite Palace's late surge after Jean-Philippe Mateta's introduction, Jaros held firm to secure Liverpool’s sixth win in seven matches.
Liverpool remain top of the Premier League, one point clear, while Palace continue their winless run and sit in the relegation zone.
