Mersey Ferries Suspended for Second Day Amid Ongoing Technical Issues

Ferry services across the Mersey have been suspended for a second consecutive day due to what has been described as a "re-occurring issue," according to Mersey Ferries.

Specialist contractors and ferry teams are working to resolve the problem, though no timeframe for a full service resumption has been confirmed.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause,” a spokesperson said.

To support commuters, a replacement bus service is operating between Seacombe and Hamilton Square in Birkenhead during peak morning and evening hours.

Despite the disruption to regular crossings, the Manchester Ship Canal Cruise is continuing to run as planned, the operator confirmed.
